"Made in the US" gets thrown around a lot. Here is what it actually means, what it doesn't, and how to read between the lines.
What it should mean
The product was manufactured (assembled, finished) in the United States from US or imported components. The Federal Trade Commission has specific rules about this.
What "Ships from the US" means
This is what most online pet brands actually do. The product was made overseas (often China), then warehoused in the US, then shipped from there. That is us, by the way — we are honest about it.
What it doesn't mean
"Designed in the US" tells you nothing about manufacturing. "US-based brand" tells you nothing about manufacturing. "Family-owned" tells you nothing about manufacturing.
What you should care about
How fast does it ship? Where does customer service actually live? Is the company a real entity you can email and get a human reply from?
Ask those three. Don't be fooled by flag emojis.
See how we ship.
